Carol is a mom and designer! We talked to her to get to know more about her brand and how she juggles her two world - being a mom and the designer of an unpcoming baby jewelry brand!

As the founder and designer of Baby Chic Jewelry, tell us a bit about how it all started?
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been passionate about the jewelry industry. After graduating from university and joined our family jewelry business, my passion only grew. During the first year at the company, I continued my studies with Gemological Institute of America and got certified as a diamond grader and an accredited jewelry professional.
BabyChic was founded a little after I had my first child. Finding it so difficult to go back to my full-time job, as my maternity leave was coming to an end, an idea was born. I used my knowledge in the jewelry industry, combined with all the inspiration I got from my bundle of joy, and created the brand.
2. What does Baby Chic have to offer people?
BabyChic carries dainty and sentimental jewelry pieces, that make perfect gifts for special occasions. Since we are moving into a digital world, our online presence offers clients convenience to shop our affordable, yet exclusive, collection and have it delivered to their doorstep.
3. Are all your pieces designed and handcrafted in your workshop? Tell us a bit about your design process.
Yes, all our pieces are designed and manufactured at our workshop. With over 40 years of experience in the jewelry industry, our in-house team makes the dream work!
As BabyChic’s collection is mostly for children, extra attention to detail is necessary when designing and manufacturing the jewelry to ensure comfort and safety.
Our pieces start out with a hand sketch, then turn in to 3D designs. Next, they are handcrafted into sparkling little jewels, that will be cherished for a lifetime!
4. How does it feel juggling being a mom and a business owner?
It is definitely not the easiest juggling being a mom and a business owner, as they are both full-time jobs. But taking part of both worlds is extremely rewarding. As I mentioned before, it was after becoming a mom that I founded the brand. This thought me that time management is everything! Creating BabyChic and running it at my own pace gave me flexibility to balance between my family and my work. It took a lot of sleepless nights to get where we are today, but I’ve loved every moment of it.
5. How does being a mom affect your business and your designs?
Being a mom certainly gave me new perspective. There are many qualities you attain from motherhood that strengthen you professionally, too! Patience, time management, and discipline are skills you practice as a mom that make you work more efficiently as an entrepreneur. Also, inspiration! A lot of it. Kids often let you see the magic you forget still exists, and that’s pretty amazing!
